KDOV

KDOV is the school's broadcasting crew.  We are responsible for all of the morning announcements.  4th and 5th grade students may participate in KDOV.  The students learn the basics of creating a news broadcast and how to work as a team.  We also host the karaoke booth at Dove's Fall Festival.  We also have an end-of-year party.

KDOV members will work in flexible three-week rotations and will have the opportunity to learn two or three different jobs throughout the year.  Students must maintain passing academic and citizenship grades to be selected for a new crew.

To become a KDOV member, students must complete an application and an interview at the beginning of the school year.  Approximately 30 students will be selected.
KDOV Directions and Job Descriptions 2012 This file will help students understand each job well enough to make an informed decision about which jobs they would like to attempt throughout the school year.
KDOV Application 2012Completing this application accurately and neatly is a significant portion of the criteria used to select new members.
Parent Permission Form 2012 This form gives the student permission to participate and permission to be on camera.
Teacher Recommendation Form 2012  Students should put their name on the form and give it to last year's teacher to complete.  The teacher will return the form to Mrs. Henry.
Interview:  The students will be asked to read a script and will be judged on fluency, intonation, and expression.  Students will also need to be prepared with a news story which will be judged on fluency, intonation, expression and creativity.  Interviews will begin as soon as a student has turned in a completed application and Parent Permission Form.  Interviews will be conducted throughout the school day as classroom and library schedules allow for time.

Students who are mainly interested in working the equipment, but would rather not be on camera, are highly encouraged to apply and will not be asked to complete an interview.
