Areas of Responsibility


Curriculum

  • Provide assistance to the Deputy Superintendent of Educational Services
  • Supervise the curriculum coordinators
  • Supervise curriculum development for fine arts and kindergarten
  • Maintain communications with principals, department chairs and team leaders in matters pertaining to curriculum
  • Monitor grade-reporting procedures and practices
  • Through budgetary considerations, provide opportunities for teachers to receive training, attend seminars and content area conferences, and participate in peer observation and coaching

Fine Arts and Kindergarten

  • Supervise curriculum development for fine arts and kindergarten
  • Facilitate the development of the District-wide fine arts calendar
  • Update Board Policies related to fine arts and kindergarten
  • Maintain communications with principals, department chairs, and team leaders in matters pertaining to fine arts and kindergarten
  • Through budgetary considerations, provide opportunities for fine arts and kindergarten teachers to receive training, and attend seminars and conferences

Counselors and Librarians

  • Coordinates district counselors and librarians
  • Works with lead couselor in developing monthly meetings and professional development
  • Works with lead librarians in providing guidance for district library program
  • Supervises secondary programs of study developement.

Communication and Group Decision-making

  • Chair Central Curriculum Committee
  • Meet with fine arts and kindergarten teachers periodically
  • Prepare formal reports, pertaining to all areas of responsibility, for the Board of Trustees
  • Other District-wide Committee Participation: Superintendent's Administrative Team, C & I Committee, Principals' Committee, Campus Excellence Committee (C.E.C.) resource for assigned schools
  • Personnel selection/interview participation (as needed)
  • Respond to inquiries pertaining to all areas of responsibility as posed by patrons, parents, community residents, and others
