| Office of Assessment, Research and Evaluation Mission and Purpose Our mission is to serve the District and stakeholders by collecting, evaluating and disseminating information that allows for informed decision-making. One of the primary functions of the Office is to ensure that accurate, timely and relevant data are available to measure student achievement and program and institutional effectiveness. ARE oversees the administration of state assessments (TAKS, SDAA, etc.), as well as test given through the District such as the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). Scanning, scoring, analyses and reporting services for many locally developed benchmark assessment are also provided by the office. A portion of the research function entails developing and administering district-wide surveys on a variety of topics and analyzing and reporting on those results. In addition, the offices is responsible for screening and approving all research requested submitted to the District. TESTING AND EXAM INFORMATION
