Tanya Kellerman, Learning Liaison
I am thrilled to be the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Coordinator and Learning Liaison at Dove. As a link between the curriculum and instruction department and the campus, I will be supporting teachers as they move towards implementing instructional goals outlined in LEAD 2021 and as we pursue becoming an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education. I also have Reading Recovery certification from Texas Woman's University and a Special Education certification.
This is my 24th year in Education. I began my career teaching kindergarten for 3 years in Garland. After relocating to Atlanta, I was a lead teacher at the Child Development Center at Georgia State University. I taught 2nd grade in Irving for a year and then became a Reading Recovery teacher and Literacy Coach for 9 years. It's hard to believe this is my 11th year in Grapevine-Colleyville where my roles have included Reading Recovery teacher, Literacy Coach , Learning Liaison, and now International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program coordinator.
Interest and Hobbies
My free time is spent with my wonderful husband of 15 years and our 13 year-old son. Our family spends a lot of time at the baseball fields where my husband coaches, my son pitches, and I cheer them on. We just recently adopted our 2nd Shih Tzu, and love him dearly, but have decided 2 dogs is our limit.
As a young child, reading was not one of my favorite activities, but after graduating from high school I began reading by choice. I've been in a bookclub with the same group of friends for 20 years.
