Welcome to Third Grade! We are so excited about this school year and what it entails for every third grade student at HES! Through teamwork and dedication, each student is guaranteed a positive and successful learning experience. During the school year each third grader is presented with many new ideas and concepts, including:

• Higher level thinking skills in every subject area
• Spelling patterns and rules versus memorization
• The writing process and research techniques
• Problem solving skills
• In-depth studies of local, national, and worldwide communities
• The scientific method
• Keyboarding
• Cursive writing
• Number concepts
