    Register online for summer programs

    Online registration is now available for GCISD's summer programs for students, including Summer Enrichment, KidzU Child Care and Summer Camp, and Secondary Summer School.

    The online summer registration will allow you to browse the sessions for the Summer Enrichment Programs and KidzU camp and care sessions. You can complete your registration online, pay online using a credit card, view and print your schedule for the summer, and print a financial statement and receipt. You can search for sessions by week, title, key word, etc. You have the option to log back into your registrations to do adds and drops, check current registration and review and print financial information.

    Price increase set for next year's school lunches

    GCISD lunch prices will increase beginning with the 2008-09 school year. Elementary lunch will be $2 and secondary lunch will be $2.25. Lunch for adults and guests will be $2.75. Lunch prices remained unchanged at secondary schools for five years and at elementary schools for four years, while salaries and food costs have continued to increase. A student lunch consists of an entrée, bread, vegetable, fruit and milk. An adult meal consists of an entrée, bread, vegetable, fruit, another fruit or vegetable serving, milk or tea.

    Board candidates forum set for April 29

    The GCISD Council of PTAs will hold its General Meeting and Candidates Forum on April 29. The meeting will be held at the Grapevine High School Library from 6:30-9 p.m. The public is invited to attend this meeting to learn more about the candidates for three seats on the GCISD Board of Trustees. Early voting begins on April 28 and election day is May 10.

    In Place 6, current trustee Vince Rosen is being challenged in the election by Leon Leal. Place 7 candidates are Mia Green and Jorge Rodriguez. Place 7 incumbent Freda Ward is not seeking re-election. Current trustee Jesse Rodríguez, Place 5, is unopposed for his seat on the Board.
