Schools and administrative offices will be closed this week, March 17-21, for Spring Break. Students and teachers will get an additional day off on Monday, March 24, since this day has not been used as a bad weather makeup day. Administrative offices will be open Monday, March 24, for regular business hours.
The annual GCISD Science Showcase will be April 1 at the Colleyville Center, 5301 Riverwalk Drive. The event features science projects created by elementary and middle school students, with middle school students competing for awards in the categories of Life Science, Earth Science and Physical Science. First, second, third and honorable mention awards will be given for sixth, seventh and eighth grades in each of the three categories. In addition, awards will be given to the middle school with the most overall winners and the middle school with the highest percentage of parents in attendance. Public viewing will be from 3:30-6 p.m. for all projects, with the middle school awards ceremony beginning at 6 p.m.
GCISD has a variety of exciting events and activities happening every week at campuses throughout the District. From PTA meetings and school programs to District celebrations and student achievements, you're sure to find something in Around the District.
