Early dismissal for elementary, middle school
students
Elementary school students will have early
dismissal
at Noon this Wednesday and Thursday, and middle
school students will be released at 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday. Please check with your child's
school for
additional details.
TES Boxtops for Education collection
The Timberline Elementary PTA is collecting
Boxtops
for Education to raise funds for the
2007-2008 school
year. This Thursday is the first of four
scheduled
collection days. TES will earn 10 cents for
every
boxtop collected. This year's goal is $1,400, or
14,000 boxtops. For a complete list of

Upcoming Events
GHS Cheer Clinic registration open
Registration is underway for the upcoming
Grapevine
High School Cheer Clinic on Sept. 29 in the GHS
gymnasium. Participants ages 4-14 will learn
cheer
techniques and a routine to perform at the
end of the
day. The clinic will be Noon-3:30 p.m. with
performances beginning at 3 p.m. Cost is $25
before
Sept. 15 or $30 at the door and includes all
clinic
activities, T-shirt and afternoon
refreshment. The
event is hosted by the GHS Cheerleader Booster
Club. Registration forms are available in the
GHS
office and all elementary and middle school
offices.

Awards and Announcements
CTMS science teacher to receive state
recognition
Kris Botterman, math teacher at Cross Timbers
Middle, will be honored as an exemplary Science,
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics teacher
by The Academy of Medicine, Engineering and
Science of Texas. She will be recognized in
October
during an education forum co-hosted by The
Academy and the Baker Institute for Public
Policy at
Rice University. Last spring, Botterman
received the
2006 Presidential Award for Excellence in
Mathematics and Science Teaching. She was also
named the CTMS Teacher of the Year for
2006-2007.

Foundation director named finalist
Janice Kane, executive director of the Grapevine-
Colleyville Education Foundation, has been
named a
finalist for the 2007 Legacy of Women Awards
presented by SafeHaven of Tarrant County. She
will
be honored during a luncheon Oct. 4 at the Fort
