Kindergarten
Registration
Children who will be five years old on or before September 1 are eligible
for kindergarten for the next school year. Kindergarten is held at each
of the 11 elementary schools in GCISD from 8 a.m.- 2:15 p.m.
Kindergarten
Roundup, a spring registration for incoming kindergarteners, is held each
year at the campus which the student will attend. To verify which school
your student will attend, please view the
maps of attendance areas.
The following
documentation is required for registration:
- Birth
Certificate or another document suitable as proof of the student’s
identity
- Social
Security Number or state identification number
- Child's
immunization records
- Proof
of Residency in GCISD
- Executed
Lease, Deed of Sale or Tax Statement, and
- Parent's
valid Texas driver's license or Utility Bill (other than telephone)
Pre-Kindergarten
Registration
To be eligible
for enrollment in PreK, a child must be four years of age by September
1 of the current school year and must be:
- limited
English-speaking; or
- eligible
to participate in the Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Program; or
- homeless;
or
- the child
of an active duty member of the armed forces, including the state military
forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who is ordered to
active duty; or
- the child
of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the
state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who
was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
Pre-kindergarten
classes will be held in English at Cannon Elementary, Glenhope Elementary
and Timberline Elementary and in Spanish at Cannon Elementary and Timberline
Elementary, from 7:50-10:45 a.m. and 11:50 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
The following
