• GCISD Board of Trustees meeting
The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Board of Trustees will meet for its
regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Aug. 28 at the GCISD Administration
Building, 3051 Ira E. Woods Ave. in Grapevine. Open session begins

CMS celebrates 30 years
Colleyville Middle School students and staff members will celebrate
that campus’ 30-year anniversary with a pep rally Aug. 30.
Students are encouraged to dress in ‘70s attire and will view
items retrieved from a time capsule during the rally. Information:

Dove PTA, principal honoring teachers
Dove Elementary PTA volunteers and Principal Becky Lamb
will honor the DES fourth-grade teachers at 8:15 a.m. Sept. 1 with
a personal car wash. The teachers won this honor for being the first
team on the campus to have 100 percent PTA membership. The PTA volunteers
and principal will wash the cars while the teachers are in class.

• GCISD holiday
The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Administration and campuses will be
closed Monday, Sept. 4, for the Labor Day holiday. Regular office
and campus hours will resume Sept. 5. Information: 817-251-5503.

Evening education classes to begin
Session 1 of GCISD’s TARGET evening classes for high school
credit begins Sept. 6. Basic courses are offered to allow students
to catch up on credits, advance in order to graduate early or open
a section of their normal schedule to take another course of their
choice. Session 1 begins Sept. 6 and classes are held at Bridges
Accelerated Learning Center, 736 E. Northwest Highway in Grapevine.
Registration
forms and payment will be accepted from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. through
Sept. 1 at the Office of Continuing Education at 736 E. Northwest
Highway in Grapevine. Late registration is 8 a.m.-noon Sept. 5.
Cost for the one-semester class is $200 for GCISD students and $250
for students from other districts. A $10 non-refundable registration
fee will be charged per student. Checks, money orders and cash are
accepted in person; MasterCard, Visa and Discover are accepted by

• GHS teacher chosen for German tour
Margaret Telford, Social Studies teacher and department chairwoman
at Grapevine High School, was one of only 80 Social Studies educators
selected to travel to Germany this past summer as part of the Transatlantic
Outreach Program. This program was a two-week study/travel tour
that included visits with German curriculum developers, authors,
teachers and high school students as well as excursions to museums,
industries and cultural venues. Telford teaches AP European History
and AP Art History at GHS. Information: 817-251-5503.

CMS employee alumni sought
Organizers of Colleyville Middle School’s 30-year anniversary
are seeking information about past employees of the campus to invite
them to a birthday reunion dinner in September. Any past CMS employees

Season tickets for varsity football on sale
Season ticket sales for Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine
High varsity football games are now on sale to the public. Tickets
may be purchased from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-7
p.m. Thursdays and 8 a.m.-Noon Fridays at the GCISD Swim Center,
2305 Pool Road. The five-game packet for each school is $40. Information:
