Happening This Week
• GCISD Summer Enrichment
Information about GCISD summer programs is available on the district’s
website, http://www.gcisd-k12.org/instruct/sschool_main.html. Session
5 of the Summer Enrichment program begins July 10 and session 6

Board of Trustees special meeting
The GCISD Board of Trustees will meet at 9:30 a.m. July 11 in a
special-called meeting to act on a recommendation for the appointment
of principal at Colleyville Heritage High School. The meeting will
be in the Board Room of the GCISD Administration Building. Information:

Cannon Summer Reading Club
Students and their parents can participate in a variety of fun and
educational activities for free as part of the 10th annual Cannon
Summer Reading Club. Activities include age-appropriate reading
centers, math sheets, writing areas, science explorations, arts
and crafts, story time, face painting and goal setting. Cannon Elementary
teachers coordinate the academic center and parents are encouraged
to participate with their children. Activities are available from
6:30-8 p.m. Tuesdays at Cannon Elementary. The next meeting will
be July 11, with the final night on July 18. Several local organizations
also contributed to the program including the Colleyville Woman’s
Club, National Charity League and Interact Rotary at Grapevine High.

CHHS Panther Band pancake breakfast
Colleyville Heritage High School Band members will serve pancakes,
sausage and beverage from 7:30-10 a.m. July 15 as part of the Panther
Pancake Breakfast fund-raiser. Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill,
5150 Colleyville Blvd., will host the band. Tickets are $5 per person
and can be purchased from any CHHS band member. All money raised
will be applied to the build-out of the larger equipment trailer

Registration for GCISD campuses begins in late July. Dates, times
and other pertinent back-to-school information for specific campuses
is available on the district’s web site, http://www.gcisd-k12.org/pr/backtoschool.htm.

Season tickets for varsity football on sale
Season tickets for Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine High varsity
football games will be on sale for current season-ticket holders
from July 31-Aug. 16 at the GCISD Swim Center, 2305 Pool Road. Tickets
may be purchased from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-7
p.m. Thursdays and 8 a.m.-Noon Fridays. Season ticket sales will
be open to the public beginning Aug. 21. The five-game packet for
each school is $40. Information: 817-251-5641.
