Happening This Week
• GCISD registration for 2006-2007
Registration for Heritage Elementary continues today. All other
GCISD elementary schools will register students on July 31-Aug.1.
Middle and high school students will register in early August. Dates,
times and other pertinent back-to-school information for specific
campuses is available on the district’s web site, http://www.gcisd-k12.org/pr/backtoschool.htm.

Calendar Items
• Season tickets for varsity football on sale
Season tickets for Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine High varsity
football games will be on sale for current season-ticket holders
from July 31-Aug. 16 at the GCISD Swim Center, 2305 Pool Road. Tickets
may be purchased from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-7
p.m. Thursdays and 8 a.m.-Noon Fridays. Season ticket sales will
be open to the public beginning Aug. 21. The five-game packet for
each school is $40. Information: 817-251-5641.

Bridges registration for 2006-2007
Verification of residency and health cards for students returning
to Bridges Accelerated Learning Center in the fall will be accepted
from 8:30 a.m.-Noon on Aug. 3 at the school. Parent orientation
will be 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22. Information: 817-251-5526.

GHS Fish Camp
Incoming freshmen to Grapevine High School will attend orientation
from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 7 in the GHS Auditorium. Students will learn
about GHS traditions, pick their class schedules, pay required fees,
get locker assignments, tour the campus and pick up textbooks. Cost
is $15 and includes lunch, commemorative T-shirt, student planner
and student ID. Information: 817-251-5210.

CHHS freshman orientation
Incoming freshmen to Colleyville Heritage High School will attend
orientation from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 11 in the CHHS Panther Gym.
Students will learn about CHHS traditions, tour the campus, pay
required fees, etc. Cost is $10 and includes lunch and various CHHS
spirit gear. Information: 817-305-4700.

and Announcements
• CHHS Band accepting silent auction donations
The Colleyville Heritage High School Band is accepting donations
of goods or services for its 2006 Extravaganza and Silent Auction.
This year, the annual fund-raiser will feature a preview of the
band’s 2006 show, “West Side Story” by Leonard
Bernstein. The band hopes to raise $11,000 to fund clinicians for
the students as well as the materials needed for the band’s
equipment trailer. The event will be Aug. 25 at the CHHS Student

GCISD accepting volunteers for health council
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD is accepting applications for five parent/community
volunteers to serve on the district’s School Health Advisory
Council, formerly the Health Education Advisory Council. The purpose
of the council is to support the provision of age-appropriate programs
that promote, protect and maintain the physical, mental and emotional
health of all students. The council also ensures health and physical
education compliance with the Texas Education Code. An application

must be approved by the school board before the council’s
