GCISD schools, stadium closed for construction during summer

As the 2006-2007 school year ends, the pace of bond construction will increase over the summer so that campuses will be ready to receive students and staff at the beginning of the 2007-08 school year.

From May 25 until August 20, 13 schools and facilities will be closed to the public so that renovations and additions may be expedited. During this time, no campus staff will be working in the buildings. However, existing campus phone numbers will remain in operation and campus staff will be checking voice mail messages regularly. The new Colleyville Elementary School will be completed for the start of the 2007-2008 school year.

Campuses/facilities closed during the summer are:

• Bear Creek Elementary School
• Bransford Elementary School
• Colleyville Elementary School (areas for private music lessons and KidzU Camp
  are open)
• Glenhope Elementary School
• O.C. Taylor Elementary School
• Silver Lake Elementary School
• Timberline Elementary School
• Colleyville Middle School
• Cross Timbers Middle School
• Heritage Middle School
• Grapevine High School
• Colleyville Heritage High School (gym and athletic fields are open)
• Mustang-Panther Stadium

Summer activities will be held at the following locations:

• Grapevine Middle School – Secondary Summer School; offices for all middle school principals and administrative assistants. Phone numbers for principals and their assistants will follow them to this summer location.
• Dove Elementary School – Staff development and elementary principals and administrative assistants affected by the school closings. Phone numbers for principals and their assistants will follow them to this summer location.
  Cannon Elementary School – Elementary Academy for Bilingual/ESL; ESY for Special Services.
• Colleyville Elementary School (5800 Colleyville Blvd.) – Private music lessons; KidzU Camp from July 23-Aug. 24.
• Grapevine Elementary School – Summer Enrichment, Explore and Discover and KidzU Camp. KidzU Camp moves to existing Colleyville Elementary campus at 5800 Colleyville Blvd. from July 23-Aug. 24.
• Heritage Elementary School – Elementary Summer Academy.
• GCISD’s Administrative Offices – Open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-5:15 p.m., May 29-Aug. 9. Closed on Fridays and July 2-6.

Additional summer closings:

• CHHS will be closed July 2-13. Requests for TEA forms and transcripts will be accepted after July 16. Counselors return to campus August 6.

Where to get information this summer:
For information about verification of enrollment forms for driver’s education, high school transcripts and report cards, please call your child’s campus and leave a message. Messages will be checked on a regular basis.
