Every
15 Minutes
Mock car crash and teen anti-drinking program puts focus on smart
choices
Every
15 Minutes is a two-day program challenging high school students
to think about drinking, personal safety and the responsibility
of making mature decisions. This year, the program will be held
at Grapevine High School on April 24 and 25.
Every
15 Minutes is a collaborative community-wide campaign dedicated
to educating young people about the ramifications of drinking alcohol,
and the impact that this can have on them as well as their friends,
classmates, and families. The program’s name was derived from
the fact that every fifteen minutes someone in the United States
dies in an alcohol-related traffic collision and shatters the lives
and dreams of innocent families.
A mock
crash will take place on April 24 at 10:15 a.m. in front of the
school, with juniors and seniors viewing the crash. The community
is invited to attend both the crash on April 24 and the assembly
on April 25 from 8:45-10 a.m. in the GHS gymnasium.
