Art
selected for holiday greeting card
Imagine
a cold winter's night, stars twinkling in the sky and a child
wrapped up in mittens and a hooded coat? That's the image
that was selected for the District's annual holiday greeting
card and the artist who drew it is Jinny Seo, 8th grader at
Heritage Middle School.
Jinny's
art, entited "Winter Greetings," was drawn on the
computer using Photoshop 5.5 and a mouse. Her art teacher,
Barnabas Strickland, said that Jinny learned in art class
about using Photoshop for contrast and shading. Jinny received
a surprise visit from Dr. Waggoner, superintendent, and a
$25 gift card to Target.
Artists
from middle and high schools submitted a variety of artwork
for the cover art of the card and all the art is on display
throughout December in The Gallery at the Administration building. The
winning art was selected by a group of District employees
and the Superintendent based on orginality, theme, use of
colors and overall design.
