Activities
planned to celebrate Texas Public Schools Week
GCISD campuses will join students and educators across the state
in celebrating Texas Public Schools Week from March 10-14 with a
variety of activities. This year’s theme is “Lift Off
to Learning.” As part of this celebration, parents and community
members are invited to visit classrooms and participate in open
house events to get a first-hand look into the educational activities
in GCISD schools.
The Masonic
Lodges of Texas established Texas Public Schools Week in 1954 to
recognize the contributions made by the state’s free system
of education. The Texas School Public Relations Association has
promoted this annual week-long celebration for more than 20 years.
Each year, the event has grown and it continues to be a meaningful
way to showcase the many educational opportunities given to the
millions of students who attend Texas public schools.
