Fifteen
GCISD students go to state Reflections contest
Entries
from 15 Grapevine-Colleyville ISD students from the Area #17 level
of the 2007-2008 Arts Reflections Contest will advance to the state
level of the contest and have the opportunity to compete in the
national level of competition. A total of 41 students were winners
of the GCISD Council of PTAs Reflections Contest and went on to
be judged at the District/Area #17 level contest. From those 41,
the 15 winners from GCISD were selected.
Over
900 students at the 17 elementary, middle and high schools in the
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD entered the 2007-2008 Arts Reflections
Contest in six categories including dance choreography, film/video
production, literature, music composition, photography and visual
arts. Each entry was originally judged at the schools in four levels
on the interpretation of this year’s theme “I Can Make
A Difference By…,” creativity and artistic merit.
Area
#17 is comprised of 18 school districts including Birdville ISD,
Carroll ISD, Castleberry ISD, Crowley ISD, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw,
Era ISD, Everman ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD,
Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, Keller ISD, Lake Worth ISD, Lindsey ISD,
Muenster ISD, Northwest ISD, Sivells Bend ISD, Slidell ISD and White
Settlement.
