GMS to host UIL Academic competition on Saturday

Grapevine Middle School will host 12 schools for the 2007-08 Academic UIL meet on Saturday, April 5, 7:30. a.m.-4 p.m. Along with the four GCISD middle schools, students from Carroll ISD, Coppell ISD, Lake Highlands ISD, Richardson ISD and Highland Park ISD are expected to participate. Competition will include a variety of events in many academic areas including:

• Maps, Graphs and Charts
• Oral Reading
• Modern Oratory
• Art
• Spelling
• Calculator Application
• Editorial Writing
• Ready Writing
• Impromptu Speaking
• Social Studies
• Dictionary Skills
• Listening
• Mathematics
• Number Sense, and
• Science
