| Printing Guidelines for GCISD Printing Services GCISD Printing Services provides high-quality printing and bindery services at a low cost for district needs as well as for non-profit groups. All Printing is to be sent to the district Print Shop. Outside printers are not to be used for campus or district printing services. This keeps district dollars within GCISD and provides cost-effective services. Printing Services has approved vendors for any work that cannot be produced in-house. 1. GCISD Printing Services provides high quality printing and bindery services at a low cost. All printing requests should be forwarded to Printing Services, Administration Building. Printing request forms are available upon request. Do not separate copies of this form; send all three parts. If you wish to keep a record of your request, please make a photocopy. You will receive a final copy for your records once the job has been billed. 2. Fill out the form completely (gray area only) to avoid delays. Paper clip original to the form or send in a folder. Do not staple original to form. 3. Once approved, a Printing Services request may require seven to 10 days for completion, depending on volume of work. Exceptions will be made on an individual basis. Requests for special papers and ink may require additional time. Handbooks and other large projects will require significantly more time, so please plan your project accordingly. 4. The printing request should be accompanied by clean, bold, camera-ready artwork or copy. Laser printed originals are preferred. A sharp black and white original would be pasted up just as you wish your finished product to look. For paste-up jobs, use wax or a glue stick. Do not use tape. Remember, your printed copy will look no better than your original. 5. Printing Services can provide typesetting services at the district’s contract rate, but additional time is required for processing. Please contact Printing Services for typesetting services. 6. Although three- or four-color printing is possible, it should be requested only for special projects. Additional charges will be assessed for extra plates, ink, etc. in the event multi-color jobs are approved. For unique printing jobs, consultation with Printing Services is necessary. 7. In-house copy equipment should be used for black-on-white 8 ½ x 11 runs of fewer than 250 copies/sets. Printing Services does not have access to a high speed copier. Please determine if the purpose of the publication can just as easily be accomplished by photocopying the material as opposed to offset printing. Be sure to calculate the price for print cartridges or copy charges when making this determination. 8. The school district logo is to be included on all publications intended for the general public. Camera ready copies of the logo are available from Printing Services and the Public Information office in a variety of sizes and will be provided upon request. 9. If the publication if for multi-campus use or district-wide distribution, please consult with the Public Information office at 817/251-5505. 10. No printing will be accepted without the 23-digit budget code and the signature of the administrator responsible for approving such expenditures. 11. Always proof material for accuracy, spelling, grammar and typographical errors before submitting for printing. Printing Services will not cover the cost of reprinting due to errors on your originals. 12. If you must request a rush job, please keep in mind that no same-day requests will be accepted unless pre-approved with Printing Services. Additional charges will be added to the total bill for rush jobs. GCISD
