6th Inning Stretch is a 25-minute daily tutorial period between 6th and 7th periods. This time provides students with a variety of opportunities including: teacher-led tutorials, study hall, content-focused clubs, and physical activities in the gym. Look for upcoming changes as the program continues to evolve to most effectively meet the needs of our students.

• Students who are requested to attend a teacher's tutorials must do so. If the students are at the point where the teachers feel they should be with respect to achievement in the classroom and have performed at an acceptable level on their TAKS tests, then they have a choice on how to spend their stretch time.
• Teachers may also choose to send their students to the library or computer lab to work on specific assignments for their class.
• Study Hall is open every day for students who choose to attend. Core teachers are available to answer questions and help students with the work for their subject area as it is needed.
• The gyms are open every day for students who choose to attend. Students wanting to play boys half-court basketball, girls half-court basketball, full-court volleyball, or soccer must sign up in advance. There is a designated area for all other students attending gym activities.
• A variety of extracurricular clubs and activities are offered to all students. The clubs that are offered are voluntary (with the exception of NJHS for 8th grade and FPS for gifted students). Students must plan ahead by signing up for their activity choices in the cafeteria the week before they wish to attend the activity. Then, on Monday of each week, they must look at the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade weekly calendar posted on the trophy cases in the hall to see which teacher tutorials or extracurricular activities they will attend for that week.
