Art Club

The art club is for 5th grade students who have a desire to spend more time expressing their creativity through hands-on art activities. Projects differ from those taught in the regular classroom program. Students who have a desire to learn more about art are encouraged to apply.
Art club meets on Tuesday afternoons.
Last spring art club painted the windows in the cafeteria. In the fall they made papier mache pigs. In January, art club will start the mural for the front hallway! |
GATR Morning News

A team of 5th grade students gathers early every morning to meet with Mrs. Nell and prepare to bring the day's news to Glenhope students and staff. With Mrs. Nell's assistance, students announce the weather, the lunch menu, important Glenhope events, and the character education thought for the day. GATR news broadcasts live each day, and students throughout the building watch the news on classroom televisions.

The Bell Choir is comprised of interested 4th and 5th grade students and rehearses on Thursday afternoons from 3:00-4:00. Both groups perform regularly throughout the year, including a Veterans Day Program, Holiday Program, and a Spring Program. Other activities include walking in the Grapevine Parade of Lights, and a trip to Sandy Lake (Gator Choir only) in May for the annual FunFest Contest. |
Safety Patrol

Glenhope 5th graders have the opportunity to serve on Safety Patrol. Our volunteers give of their time each morning. They arrive early and assist with opening car doors as students arrive. |
Student Council

Anne Ricci, Cindy Miller, and Kim Graham are the Student Council sponsors. Student Council is open to 4th and 5th- grade students and they join at the beginning of each school year. Meetings are held approximately once a month. Student Council is involved in community projects. |
Computer Crew

Fifth graders volunteer each year to assist with routine campus computer needs. These students manage tasks that help teachers. They volunteer to arrive a few minutes early each morning and stay a few minutes late each afternoon.Their assistance is greatly appreciated by our Glenhope staff! |
Yearbook Committee

Fifth grade students also have the opportunity to work with Mrs. Bisballe on the yearbook. Students must have a teacher recommendation, maintain A/B honor roll, and have good attendance. The students work with Mrs. Bisballe once a week during the month of January. They learn each of the steps in the yearbook process. The process includes typing names, making collage pages, reviewing, and editing. Twenty students are selected each year to serve on this committee. |
