  • Verteran's Day Celebration

On Friday, November 10th, HES students and staff honored, celebrated, and thanked our Veterans for their service to our country. We enjoyed hearing personal experiences of representatives from every branch of the military. Following a ceremony in which students sang patriotic songs, our Veterans were invited to visit with students in their classrooms as well. We were honored to host such a brave group of men and women!

  • Dot Day 2017

    Dot Day

HES students participated in their first Fine Arts Friday experience on September 15, 2017. Every student, from Kindergarten through fifth grade, participated in a campus-wide, collaborative art installation while celebrating International Dot Day. Peter H. Reynolds book, The Dot, encourages children to be creative and courageous, as well as, collaborative workers. They learned about Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama and created a large scale work of art, using her signature dot style of art.  The exhibit is on display between the ramp and stairs near our cafeteria and gym.  Leann Slusher, Grapevine High School class of 2011, shared how her GCISD education successfully prepared her for college and her beginning career as a sculptor.  Leann will graduate May, 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, emphasis in sculpture.
