Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable winter vacation.  It's hard to believe the first semester is over, and the second semester of school is now beginning.  Based on my calendar, there are only 98 days until summer vacation.

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) Tests will be administered this semester.  Fourth grade students will take the STAAR Writing Test on Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3.  The fifth grade students will take the STAAR Math Test on Tuesday, April 2 and the STAAR Reading Test on Wednesday, April 3.  The students and teachers have worked very hard to prepare for these tests.  We know they will do a fabulous job!

Students in third and fourth grade will take the STAAR Math Test on Tuesday, April 23 and the STAAR Reading Test on Wednesday, April 24.  The STAAR Science Test will be administered to fifth grade students on Wednesday, April 24.  We are confident the students will do a terrific job on these tests!

Many exciting events are planned during the second semester at Heritage Elementary School!  Please take a moment to mark your calendar for the following activities:

The PTA is sponsoring the Heritage Elementary School Talent Show for all students in kindergarten through fifth grade on Friday, February 8 at Colleyville Heritage High School.  More information will be coming home in the Monday folders.  We look forward to seeing our many talented students.

Open House will be held on Thursday, March 7 from 6:00 - 7:30.  This is a wonderful evening for students and parents to visit the school and celebrate curriculum activities and academic achievements.

Spring Break is scheduled for the week of March 11 - March 15. We know that our students, parents, and staff enjoy this week off.  Have fun and remember to return to school on Monday, March 18!

The PTA will sponsor their annual Spring Fling on Friday, April 26.  There will be music, food, and more.  Stay tuned for more information coming soon from the PTA! 

Field Day is scheduled for Friday, May 24.  Mrs. Bostick and Mrs. Lamb are working hard to plan a day full of fun and sportsmanship.
