Examinations for Acceleration
Credit by Examination

GCISD offers opportunities for students to participate in acceleration examinations at different times during the school year and the summer months  The exam dates are published in the GCISD Student Handbook, on the GCISD website district calendar and in each of the Information Packets listed below.  Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade may register for acceleration examinations to move up one grade level.  High school students may register for credit by examinations to earn credit in a course they have not taken or under certain circumstances to earn credit for a course which they took but for which they did not receive credit.  The criteria for credit and placement are based in legal and local policies.
