    New community playground a fun place to make memories
    In 2006, GCISD partnered with the City of Grapevine to provide a location for a Community Outreach Center that residents along Mustang Drive could walk to from their homes. Since then, the Center has provided recreational, educational, social, and cultural enrichment programs to residents, many of whom are GCISD families. On June 24, the Center’s offerings got a little bigger with the opening of a new community playground. Local government officials, school district leaders and community members joined together for the dedication ceremony. GCISD preparing for back-to-school with new online registration system
    To help streamline the registration process for parents, GCISD has implemented a new online student registration system for the upcoming school year. The new system is called Infosnap and brings the following benefits:
    • New students to the district will be able to begin the registration process prior to coming to the campus by filling out the forms online;
    • Parents may complete multiple forms at one time;
    • General information for siblings is automatically populated, therefore parents only need to enter this information once; and,
    • The application resembles a questionnaire format, offering parents greater ease in entering requested information.
    Parents now will use Infosnap to register instead of Skyward. Registration for returning students begins in August. Click here to read more about the new online registration system.

    EOC Summer School Clarification
    With the passage of Texas House Bill 5, certain end-of-course exams are no longer a requirement for graduation under state law. Courses that have been eliminated from graduation requirements are Algebra II, Chemistry, English III, Geometry, Physics, World History and World Geography. As a result, students who were attending summer school for these courses no longer need to attend and they will not be retesting in July. However, GCISD is continuing to offer accelerated summer instruction on a voluntary basis for students who want to take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen their success in these courses. To read how this affects students taking summer school, click here.
