I am Virginia McCauley. I grew up in the east town of Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School. I went to Texas Christian University (TCU) - GO FROGS!!! - and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. My certifications include all-level music and first grade through eighth grades. I taught school for 22 years in the traditional elementary classroom and this will be my sixth year to teach music at Glenhope. I have been married to my husband for 33 years. We have two amazing children; a daughter, age 21, who is a Senior at TCU and a son, age 13, who is in the 8th grade at CTMS. As a family, we enjoy music, traveling,  attending Scottish festivals and concerts and following the TCU Horned Frogs.  We were foster/adoptive parents with the Texas Family Protective Services for two years and were greatly impacted by our experiences. Our son was our fourth and final foster child whom we were able to adopt after having him for 13 months from birth. Something my students will discover quickly about me is that I am a fanatic about red, white and blue. I love flags and I am very patriotic. I am thrilled to be the Music teacher at Glenhope Elementary. Elementary music is a special place for students to learn singing, instrument playing and movement. My hope is that they will leave my classroom with great self-esteem, a love of music and learning, and a deep appreciation and love for our wonderful country.
