Grapevine High School Girls Cross Country Team Wins State Title

GHS boys team also medal as does Colleyville Heritage runner

Fulfilling their promise to return to the state finals after coming up short one year ago, the Grapevine High School girls finished first at the UIL 5A cross country state meet on a cold and rainy Saturday in Round Rock. The GHS boys cross country squad also brought home medals, finishing third in the team competition. Colleyville Heritage High School also brought home a medal. In the UIL 6A individual competition, David Strome took the bronze medal for his third place finish in the November 7 state meet.

“The girls all year had talked about turning silver into gold after finishing second in 2014. They delivered on that promise,” said GHS Coach Rick Miller. It was the first gold medal for the GHS girls since 1993.
