How to find out about bad weather school closings
ice graphic When weather conditions cause potentially hazardous driving conditions, schools may be closed or delayed in starting for the safety of students and staff.  GCISD uses multiple methods to notify parents of school delays and school closures. Notices are posted on the District website, sent via FastNews and E-Alerts, posted on GCISD's Facebook and Twitter pages, and on local TV and radio stations. In addition, direct phone and text notifications are sent to parents and employees. No announcements will be made when schools are to remain open. If schools are to be closed for an entire day, that announcement will be made by 6:30 a.m. that day. Early release of classes already in session may be made if it appears that weather conditions are becoming worse and driving would be hazardous.
Notice anything different?
If you have used the GCISD website this week, you have probably noticed the new design. One of the main features is front and center - the rotating photos and announcements. Most frequently used sections are available through icons on the top right part of the page and under Find it Fast.  We are continuing to make changes and hope that the new design is more user-friendly when you visit our website.
