Parents, grandparents and other special guests joined students at Grapevine Elementary School in celebrating Heritage Day. Second and third graders performed a patriotic musical called All-American Me and You, featuring a tribute to the flags of the 50 states. Guests visited classrooms where student work was displayed and participated in projects with their students.

 

 

As an extension of Silver Lake Elementary School's  Heritage Day, fourth graders experienced their first virtual field trip. Using Skype, students visited the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth.  Students were able to interact with a live person at the museum who shared information from Little House on the Prairie and Sarah Plain and Tall.
