Online Registration - Aug. 1 (K-8) and Aug. 7 (9-12)

Online registration for returning elementary and middle school students began Aug. 1 and for secondary students on Aug. 7.
 
Returning Elementary Students
For returning elementary-age students who began the registration process in May and completed residency verification at that time, parents need to sign into Family Access to complete the registration process. You do not need to go to the school for registration purposes unless you did not go through the May process.
 
Returning Middle and High School Students
For returning middle and high school students, online registration will open in Family Access on Aug. 7. In Family Access, complete the forms to register your child, and at the end you will receive a confirmation sheet. Please take the confirmation sheet to your school's registration on the days and times indicated on the Back to School page.  Fees for participation in activities and athletics and some classes, such as art, career and technology, will also need to be paid online in Family Access. A receipt will be provided at the end of the process. The confirmation sheet and paid fees receipt, if applicable, must be provided at the campus to complete registration and pick up schedules. At that time you will also be asked to provide proof of residency in GCISD.
 
Acceptable documents for proof of residency include:
  1. Current Texas Driver's license or current utility bill
  2. and one of the following:
  • Property Tax Statement 
  • Executed Lease or
  • Deed of Sale

All must have matching addresses; post office boxes not accepted.  More information on Residency Verification here.

Students New to GCISD
If you are new to GCISD, please print out and complete the NEW STUDENT PACKET. New student registration dates and times vary by school and that information is available on the Back to School page of the District website. Please have the following with you when you attend your school's registration for new students:
  • New Student Packet (completed)
  • Residency Verification documents (above)
  • Immunization Records - Need to know what immunizations are required?
  • Payment for fees, if applicable
    • Athletic and Activities fees
    • Art and Music class fees
    • Career and Technology fees

Other things to know:
