Two key district leadership roles filled

Two new professionals have been hired for the leadership positions at GCISD, Director of Finance and Executive Director of Instructional Leadership. These two positions are vital roles in daily decision-making and activities for the district and in its innovative environment of inspiring, encouraging, and support students, staff and community.

Dr. Shiela Neal will join GCISD on Nov. 12 as Executive Director of Instructional Leadership. Patti Davis, who is currently in that position, is retiring on Dec. 21 after 17 years at GCISD. Neal has most recently been Interim Deputy Executive Director of Instructional Services at the Region 8 Education Service Center in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Prior to that she was Director of Leadership Support and Development at the service center.

Christi Drilling has joined the district as the Director of Finance, filling the position vacated by DaiAnn Mooney who is now GCISD's Chief Finance Officer. For the past two years, Drilling served as the Director of Budget & Investments at Eagle-Mountain-Saginaw ISD. Prior to that, she worked in the Finance area at Carroll ISD for 13 years.
