GHS Fillies Win Big in Austin

The Grapevine High School Fillies dance teams competed against 15 other teams at the Crowd Pleasers Austin Showcase dance competition this past weekend.


Coach Kay Lynn Renfro expressed great admiration for her students and the the team’s overall performance.


“They are demonstrating great growth in performance quality and the emotional commitment required of all four team routines,” Renfro said. “The mood and theme of each routine is so varied that it creates a special performance challenge for every dancer.”

  • Best in Class for Pom, Military, Lyrical, Contemporary
  • Choreography Award for Pom and Lyrical

  • Medium Ensemble Award for Senior Hip Hop dance
  • Soloists: Abigail Steinle earned first place in the 12th grade division, while Emily Kane placed second in this division. Becca Barnard and Hannah Davis both tied for second place in the 11th grade solo division.
