GCISD to use Skyward for registration for 2016-2017 school year

Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, GCISD will use Skyward Family Access to register students. This is a change for families as the district has previously used Infosnap.

New students to GCISD for the 2016-2017 school year may begin registering with Skyward the week of April 25 through 29, while returning students will complete registration in August.
One of the benefits of registering with Skyward is that all returning student and family information will be pre-populated in the required fields, which will expedite the process. Additionally, each year families must verify their residency with GCISD; however, this year Skyward will provide students with the option to verify the address electronically and upload the necessary documents.
“We are continually looking for ways to streamline our process and make things easier and more convenient for our families,” said GCISD Chief Learning Officer Dr. Rick Westfall. “By moving to Skyward for student registration and residency verification, we hope this will alleviate some of the stress that comes for our families at the beginning of a new school year.”
Once new and returning families login to Skyward, they will be asked to review or enter the following information.
  • Student
  • Family and/or Guardian
  • Medical and Dental
  • Emergency Contact
  • Immunization
  • Requested documents and additional forms
Registration for returning students will open in early August 2016. When the date has been finalized, information will be available on the district website, social media channels, back to school tools website and in The LEADer.
For families who are looking to register students for the current school year, they will continue to use Infosnap. New families who will be registering for the first time in April are encouraged to review a brief list of frequently asked questions prior to their registration date.
