GCISD celebrates Veterans Day

Students and staff from across the district will take part in special programs to celebrate those who have served or are serving our country in honor of Veterans Day. These events include guest speakers, student performances, veteran recognitions, and more. The complete list of campus events is listed below:

 

Bear Creek Elementary: Veterans Day Assembly on November 11

1:45 p.m.: Choir will perform and host a school assembly with veteran recognition.

 

Bransford Elementary: Veterans Day Program on November 11

8:30 a.m.: Second graders will perform for veterans

9:15 a.m.: Students line hallways and cheer for veterans

9:30 a.m.: Veterans join classes for Circle Up

9:45 a.m.: Reception for Veterans in the library

 

Cannon Elementary: Veterans Day Program on November 11

7:40 a.m.: Both school choirs will perform, fifth graders will sing the National Anthem, then all students will sing for Veterans.

 

Colleyville Elementary: Fifth grade Veterans Day Program on November 10 & 11

7 p.m. on November 10

8:15 a.m. on November 11

 

Dove Elementary: Veterans Day activities on November 11

All day: Individualized programs per grade level.

 

Glenhope Elementary: Veterans Day Program on November 10

8:15 a.m.: All veterans recognized during assembly.

9:15 a.m.: All veterans recognized during assembly.

 

Heritage Elementary: 16th Annual Veterans Day Celebration on November 11

8:15 a.m.: Veterans and current members of the military will be recognized at the front circle at HES. Students in all grade levels and the HES Eagle Choir will sing. Performance concludes with a special student performance. After, refreshments will be served in the library.

 

OC Taylor Elementary: Veterans Day Assembly on November 11

8:30 a.m.: Third and fourth grade students will perform patriotic music to honor veterans and military personnel. Reception to follow in the library.

 

Timberline Elementary: Veterans Day Program on November 10

8:15 a.m. and 6:30 - 7 p.m.

 

Cross Timbers Middle: Veterans Day Program on November 11

9:30 a.m.: School assembly. Students will show their patriotic spirit by wearing red (sixth graders), white (seventh graders) and blue (eighth graders).

 

Grapevine Middle: Veterans Day Program/Presentation on November 11

1:45 - 2:15 p.m.: Reception for Veterans and their families in Cafeteria.

2:15 - 3:25 p.m.: Veterans Day Program in Gym sponsored by GMS Fine Arts.

 

Heritage Middle: Veterans Day Assembly on November 11

2 p.m.: Reception hosted by HMS AVID students in cafeteria. School assembly to follow in Gym A.

 

Colleyville Heritage High: “A Tribute to our Veterans” on November 11

9:00 - 9:30 a.m.: Freshman assembly

9:45 - 10:15 a.m.: Sophomore assembly

10:30 - 11 a.m.: Junior assembly

11:28 - 11:58 a.m.: Senior assembly

~12:30 - 1 p.m.: Veteran recognition at halftime of 12 p.m. Varsity Girls Basketball Game

 

Grapevine High: “A Tribute to Veterans” on November 10

8:40 a.m.: Red Carpet Walk of Honor - students line up to welcome veterans

8:55 - 10 a.m.: A Tribute to our Veterans Program in Auditorium with guest speaker Mr. Kellett Sayre, a GHS graduate, Class of 1999

10 - 11 a.m.: Veterans’ breakfast in the GHS library

11 - 11:30 a.m.: Dedication in Veterans’ memorial garden
