The Cross Timbers Middle School Band was selected as one of only three middle school bands to perform at the MidWest Clinic in Chicago this week. The MidWest Clinic is attended by musical educators and performers from across the United States and has an annual attendance of more than 15,000 people. The CTMS Band is comprised of 89 GCISD students - 73 of them are current CTMS 7th & 8th graders, 15 are GHS 9th graders who were in the CTMS Band last year when the band was selected, and the featured flute soloist, is a senior at Grapevine High School who previously attended CTMS. As a result of the band's being selected to perform at this prestigious conference, two composers have visited CTMS this fall and the band will meet three more composers in Chicago. The CTMS Band is directed by Asa Burk & Mary McCracken.
