Early voting for Board of Trustees election underway

Early voting is underway for the GCISD Board of Trustees election to fill Places 1 and 2. Two candidates, Rick Hinckley, Place 1, and Michael McCoy, Place 2 have notified the district in writing that they are no longer actively seeking election to the GCISD Board of Trustees. March 8 was the official withdrawal deadline for candidates to have their names removed from the ballot, so both Hinckley and McCoy still will be listed as candidates on the election ballot. Votes cast for them will be tabulated as for any other candidate, but neither is seeking a place  on the Board of Trustees. Board members are elected to three-year terms, are unpaid and do not represent specific geographic areas. Early voting began April 30 and ends on May 8. Election Day is May 12.  Links for voting locations and additional election information are listed below.
